Forest Preservation in Argentina

This video is part of our Intel ISEF 2011 series.

During a school trip Clara Duarte and Emilce Espinoza saw that their local forests were dwindling. By researching their community’s wood usage and studying the biological diversity of their area, they were able to identify other, better uses for endangered local species such as Euphorbia splendens, commonly know as Crown of Thorns.  Their efforts led to the establishment of nature preserve behind their school, a discovery of a new type of cattle feed, and an invitation to participate in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair!
