Solar ovens in Navajo Nation

This video is part of our Intel ISEF series

Raquel Redshirt lives within the Navajo Nation of New Mexico. Historically, there has been a lack of access to cooking fuels due to their remote location. In order to try and solve that problem, Raquel studied solar ovens and created her own from found materials around her community. She, in turn, was a finalist at the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair. This is the story of how her innovative idea was born.
