We eat these foods: Our town is full of many different cultural restaurants and groceries. While our favorite foods often reflect our cultural heritage, some American foods we love are pizza, nachos, ice cream, cookies, corn dogs, cheeseburgers, and sandwiches of all types!
We grow these foods: New Jersey's nickname is the "Garden State!" New Jersey produces five major fruit berry crops. They are apples, blueberries, cranberries, peaches and strawberries. New Jersey ranks 2nd in the nation in blueberry production and is ranked 3rd in the nation in total production of cranberries Jersey tomatoes and corn are famous in our region!
We practice these religions: Our religions reflect our diverse background. Some of the religions we practice are Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and many forms of Christianity, including Catholicism, Methodist and Baptist.
We speak these languages: Mostly English, but our families many speak many diverse languages at home. Some include, Spanish, Punjabi, Phraci, Telugu, Tamil, Gujarati, many dialects of Chinese, Urdu, Ashanti and many more! We have very diverse cultural backgrounds!
These animals live in our area: We love our pets at home! They include dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, fish and more! Our wild animals include, squirrels, deer, bears, rabbits, birds, raccoons, snakes, gofers, skunks and other types of small rodents.
These industries support our local economy: Edison is at the heart of our state's highway system with the intersection of many major roads. This makes it a perfect place for major companies and corporations.
We use these types of transportation: Our roads are quite congested as many people in Edison drive cars. Commuters may use our NJTransit train system to commute all over the state at to New york City, which is a short distance away. Buses are also a popular form of transportation.
