When he was only five months old, he traveled from Italy to New York on a ship that went to Ellis Island and later became a US citizen. He served in WWII from 1942-1944 and received the Purple Heart for being wounded in battle. He married Mary D'Anna, had four children and nine grandchildren and has a close-knit family. He is a generous man who donates his time and money to many charities and is well respected for his good advice, easy going attitude and sense of humor. In my opinion, he grows the best tomatoes in his garden and inspired me to have a garden of my own. I love my Pappa.
