100 People: Newark is a multimedia project that celebrates the people of Newark through photographs and on-camera interviews. In honor of the 350th Anniversary of Newark, the 100 People Foundation has partnered with the PSEG Foundation to create a vibrant portrait of Newark's residents, statistically representing them by age, ethnicity, gender, ward of residence and language spoken at home. We hope to celebrate the city's rich history and culture, and create a legacy gift for the city to mark this major milestone.
We are in the process of collecting nominations from across the city and photographing and interviewing the selected nominees. To be eligible, each nominee must be a current resident of Newark and someone who is admired within the community and represents the city at its best.
We encourage you to send us nominations! We value your input in identifying individuals who best represent the city, across all wards and sectors. Please note that the 100 People Foundation staff will make the final selection of nominees. We also welcome suggestions of other community leaders who can recommend nominees from their networks in Newark.
Thanks in advance for your support, and please stay tuned for the launch of the 100 People: Newark project gallery!
